how to get here
come by plane

The closest airport is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Other, more remote, options are JFK, LaGuardia (LGA), and Philadelphia.

From Newark, take the Air Train to the NJ Transit station, and purchase a ticket to New Brunswick. From Newark Airport, take the train in the direction of Trenton/Philadelphia to get to New Brunswick (NOT New York). You can also catch a cab or call for a car service (estimate: $85-100).

From JFK, take the Air Train JFK system to connect to the LIRR. Take the LIRR to NY Penn Station, and from there take an NJ Transit train to New Brunswick on the Northeast Corridor line in the direction of Trenton. More info is here and here.

From LaGuardia, you can reserve a shuttle, or take an NYC bus from the airport in to the city, and travel from NY Penn Station on the Northeast Corridor line to New Brunswick, NJ in the direction of Trenton.

come by train

Take Amtrak to NY Penn Station or Metropark (Iselin, NJ), and take NJ Transit to the New Brunswick stop in the direction of Trenton. We're conveniently located right on the Northeast Corridor line. (See below for apps.)

From the train station to the Honors College (5 Seminary Place):
From the New Brunswick stop, exit out of the train station towards Barnes & Noble, and walk across Somerset towards either College Ave or George St heading toward campus. You can also walk across Voorhees Mall through campus. From College Ave or the mall, turh right on Seminary Place and look for the Honors College on your left. From George St, turn left on Seminary Place and look for the Honors College on your right.

come by auto

Rutgers University - New Brunswick is easily accessible from Exit 9 off the NJ Turnpike. Take Exit 9 to Route 18 North and follow the signs to campus. (Take Albany or George St. exits off of Route 18.) You can also take the Garden State Parkway to Route 1. Use your GPS or Google Maps for more specific directions (Honors College address: 5 Seminary Place, New Brunswick, 08901).

You must have purchased parking to park on campus! Anyone with a hang tag can park in the following lots, as indicated by the grey areas on this map: 20, 26, 30, College Ave. Parking Deck, 11 (after 4pm), 16 (after 4 pm). The furthest lot is about a 10-minute walk to the Honors College.

For the reception at the Zimmerli Museum on Sunday, you may part in lots 1, 11, or 16 on the College Ave Campus (CAC) without a permit. (16 is the most convenient.) See the map of parking (grey areas) on CAC here.

New Brunswick has limited metered parking, in effect M-Sat. Additional parking is also available in the Gateway Parking Deck (7 Wall Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08901), beginning at $3/hour.
